Short version: SmartHomeFind earns a small commission when you click our Amazon links and make a purchase. It costs you nothing extra. It doesn't change what we recommend. We disclose this on every page because you have a right to know.
SmartHomeFind is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for websites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
This means that when you click a product link on SmartHomeFind and make a purchase on Amazon within the qualifying window, we receive a small percentage of the sale as a commission. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you navigated to Amazon directly — we receive our commission from Amazon's margin, not from any surcharge to you.
Commission rates vary by product category and are set entirely by Amazon. We have no control over these rates.
Our editorial decisions — which products we cover, which we recommend, and what we write about them — are made independently of affiliate commission rates. A product earns a recommendation by being genuinely good value, not by generating a higher commission.
We apply the same standard to every product: if it's worth buying, we link to it. If it isn't, we say so — regardless of whether a link exists. Our credibility is more valuable to us than any individual commission.
We do not accept payment from brands for placement or positive coverage. We do not guarantee favorable reviews in exchange for free products. If a product was provided for review at no cost, we will say so in the review.
This disclosure is made in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, specifically 16 CFR Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."
The FTC requires that any material connection between a content publisher and a brand or product be clearly and conspicuously disclosed to readers. Earning an affiliate commission is a material connection, and we disclose it on every page of this site that contains affiliate links — not just on this page.
At present, SmartHomeFind only participates in the Amazon Associates Program. If we join additional affiliate programs in the future, this page will be updated to reflect that.
